He was really excited seeing me do it for the first time. I've never thought of doing it until now, and now I'm a little nervous: what if I'm bad at it? What if it hurts? He smiles at me and reassures me that everything is going to be just fine and that I will learn to love it.
As I get into ready position, I can't help but get a little annoyed at how wet I am. It makes things a little more difficult when you're concentrating on not freaking out. Another smile from him, and he asks if I'm ready to go - yep, I'm finally ready to do it. So he leans in and hits it hard. Slow at first, and then faster and faster as I get used to it.
True, it hurts the first couple of times, but after I got the hang of how it's supposed to work, it was a lot of fun and I begged him to do it some more. Finally I felt I was ready for a break, so he helped me up and we sat on the bench. He puts his arm around my shoulder, telling me how proud he is and how well I did for my first time waterskiing.
